The Ultimate 30-Day A/L Chemistry Challenge: Master Chemical Calculations in Just 30 Minutes a Day

If there is one unit in the Advanced Level Chemistry syllabus that strikes fear into the hearts of students, it’s Unit 03: Chemical Calculations.
Moles, molarity, gravimetric analysis, limiting reagents, and balancing chemical equations. It can feel like a mountain of information. Most students try to tackle it by cramming for hours on end, leading to burnout and confusion.
But what if you didn’t have to cram?
Welcome to the October Chemistry Crunch! We are launching a 30-Day, 30-Minutes-a-Day Chemistry Challenge. It is the perfect, stress-free way to master Chemical Calculations without burning out.
Here is everything you need to know to join the challenge and transform your Chemistry grades this October.

⏱️ How the 30-Minute Routine Works

You don’t need three hours to study Chemistry; you need focused minutes. Every day in this challenge is scoped to exactly 30 minutes using a simple, repeatable 10-15-5 Routine:
  • 📖 10 Minutes (Read & Prime): Read the specific lesson pages on the AMILAGuru app and take down your notes in the specially designed notebook.
  • ✍️ 15 Minutes (Practice): Complete the targeted Assignment questions or Worked Examples for that day.
  • 👁️ 5 Minutes (Review & Save Marks): Review the “COMMON TRAP ⚠” and “EXAMINER’S EYE 👁” for that specific lesson. (This is where you actually save your marks in the exam!)

📜 The 3 Golden Rules of the Challenge

  1. Consistency over intensity: 30 minutes is the goal. Even if you only manage 15 minutes on a busy school day, just keep the streak alive.
  2. No skipping the traps: The 5-minute “Common Trap” review is mandatory. Examiners design questions specifically to catch these mistakes. Don’t fall for them!
  3. Use the weekend buffers: Days 7, 14, 21, and 28 are designed to be slightly lighter. Use them to catch up if you fell behind during the week.

💡 Pro Tips for Success

  1. Print a Checklist: Copy this 30-day list onto a physical piece of paper or a whiteboard. The physical act of checking off a day releases dopamine and builds momentum.
  2. Use the “Hook”: Before starting your 10 minutes of reading, read the “Think About This…” hook out loud. It primes your brain for the concept.
  3. Track Your Streak: Don’t break the chain! If you miss a day, use the weekend buffer days to catch up.
